The Photography Show, 1-4 March 2014

Following the closure of Focus on Imaging, The Photography Show is the brand new event dedicated to the imaging industry. Taking place at the NEC, Birmingham, 1-4 March 2014, the event is set to attract thousands of fellow professional photographers, retailers and enthusiasts.

Kenro launches new range of Benro Messenger Bags

Kenro, the UK and Ireland Distributor of Benro products has announced the availability of Cool Walker Messenger Bags, specifically designed for photographers who want fast access to equipment.

The bags open quickly allowing rapid access to photo gear and small pockets at the front of the bag are great for the easy retrieval of mobile phones, wallets and other small accessories. UK Printers hold first exhibition using exclusively ILFORD Multigrade papers

ILFORD PHOTO and SILVERPRINT are pleased to announce a launch exhibition with black and white silver gelatine prints made exclusively on the new ILFORD MULTIGRADE FB CLASSIC and FB COOLTONE papers.

Leading UK printers, including Robin Bell, Glen Brent, Mike Crawford, Melvin Cambettie Davies, Sharon Easterling, Adrian Ensor, Peter Guest, Colin Jones, Nick Jones, Klaus Kalde, Tim Rudman, Debbie Sears and Mike Spry, have submitted images that will showcase this exciting range of new papers from ILFORD PHOTO. Improve outdoor photography with Marumi UV Haze Filters

Kenro, the official UK and Ireland distributors of Marumi Optical have announced the availability of the full range of the new Marumi UV Haze Filters.

New additions to the Benro Classic Tripod range

Manufactured from either high quality aluminium or 8 layer Carbon Fibre with magnesium alloy castings, the series of tripods have been designed squarely with the needs of the outdoor photographer in mind. Fujifilm has published a new Photo Imaging trade price list, designed to help customers quickly and easily locate products, together with relevant technical data and prices.

Last chance to pre-register for The Societies’ 2014 Convention

Photographers planning to visit the biggest photographic Convention ever held in Europe , can still access the Trade Show element of the London-based event free of charge, if they pre-register before 24 December 2013.

The three-day trade show organised by The Societies, will be held at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel, Edgware Road , starting on Friday 17 January 2014.

Fujifilm Instax stars in Lily Allen video

Fujifilm's recently launched instant print camera, the Instax Mini 90 Neo Classic, has made a starring role in the video to promote Lily Allen's new single, 'Hard Out Here'.

Gabriel Da Costa, product manager for Fujifilm, explained more: "Lily is a keen fan of our Instax cameras and was one of the first people to take delivery of the Mini 90. When we were presented with the opportunity to place the camera in her new promo we jumped at the chance. She fits the demographic of Instax users and we see Lily as being a perfect fit for our brand, she's edgy, outspoken and fun.

He continued: "The lyrics of Hard Out Here send a positive message against sexism in pop culture and the video takes a light-hearted dig at the overtly sexual images that appear in many promos."

Fujifilm plans to use the video as a platform to build the Instax social media presence, as Da Costa said: "Facebook and Twitter are the perfect shop window for Instax and Lily is hugely popular online with over 4.3 million Twitter followers and nearly 3 million on Facebook. While numbers of Instax followers are rather more modest they are growing steadily, and we see social media as a key part of our marketing mix."

Spin-offs from the association include signed stills from the shoot, a behind the scenes storyboard (shot on Instax) and Allen even took time out to sign the actual camera used in the video. All these items will be used as prizes to help promote the Instax range.
