BIPP President Announced

The British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) has confirmed Roy Meiklejon, Sales and Marketing Director for Towergate Camerasure, as their new President.

BIPP’s Chief Executive, Chris Harper FBIPP reported:

“As announced earlier in the year BIPP is delighted that Roy Meiklejon, one of our profession’s most respected and informed individuals, has agreed to take on the role as President.  Roy, who has been Vice President of the BIPP since June, succeeds our past President, Andy Gotts FBIPP, and has formally taken up this new voluntary role as of 13 September 2011.

“BIPP continues to expand its services to professional photographers and Roy’s knowledge of both the industry and the requirements of professional photographers, will be key to our continued development.”  Roy’s involvement in the specialist area of photography and multimedia insurance stretches back over twenty years. He joined Towergate in 2000 and has been instrumental in developing Camerasure into the market leading brand it is today. His wealth of knowledge, close connections and friendships has ensured the unique creativity within professional photography is not lost in the sometimes mundane world of business. Roy, who will continue his career as Sales and Marketing Director for Towergate Camerasure, will work closely with the BIPP’s Board and Chief Executive to develop the membership base of the qualifying body of professional photography.

Established in 1901, BIPP continues to go from strength to strength. As a not for profit company, BIPP remains true to its core values – the education, training and qualifying of professional photographers. Representing photography at the highest levels, BIPP continues to work to protect the rights of photographers while benefitting some 3,500 members worldwide.
